Increase Service Efficiency with
Stertil-Koni Mobile Vehicle Lifts
The traditional way to service the
underside of a truck is to get on the creeper,
slide under the truck, decide what you need,
slide out from under the truck, stand up,
select tools and parts, slide back
under the truck, find you forgot something, slide back
out from under the truck...
There is a better way!
Mobile vehicle lifts can raise shop
efficiency to new levels. By
raising the entire vehicle to work at a
comfortable height you improve
productivity and safety.
Shop
operators using mobile lifts report 30-50% improvement in service
time for virtually any tasks under the
truck.
And, technicians work safer and with
less fatigue.

Savvy Pro Shop
Tips - Work Smarter, Faster |
|
|
We've
added another new feature to
TruckSavvy.com.
Savvy Pro Shop
Tips will provide information from our
contributors on short cuts and work
arounds that help maintenance people
around the world work more safely and
efficiently.
Today's
Savvy Pro Shop Tip - Create Extra Work
Space
One of our contributors
told us about a way to create
extra space for laying out parts and
tools around a truck.
Simply rip
a sheet of plywood in to two 2 foot by 8
foot pieces and screw an 8 foot 2 x 4 in
the center of each one. Now you
have a handy table that you can lay over
that tandems on each side . You
can use these tables to lay out and
store the sheet metal, air piping and
exhaust pieces that you take off the
vehicle and keep them out of the way.

Airless
Tire Concept
We
recently heard about a product concept
from Michelin...an airless tire.
The design concept wheel and tire
combination has an open structure design
that uses a
spring/spoke arrangement to dampen road
irregularities. The result...no
air pressure to monitor and maintain.
No word on
plans to offer the Tweel for on highway
vehicles yet, but it's definitely
intriguing. Click on
