ATRO Polyurethane - Bushings, Mounts and Torque Rods American ingenuity serves trucking industry with unrivaled quality, consistency.
The goal of every fleet operator is to have every one of its units in service at all times, with a minimum of down time. Each day that a truck, bus or trailer is stagnant results in loss of revenue or failed deliveries. Historically, our polyurethane parts have outlasted and outperformed competitors’ rubber equivalents by three, four and up to ten times. Our components for heavy-duty trucks and other vehicles dramatically outstrip the competition while improving vehicle ride quality and reducing stress on related components. As ATRO’s founder, George Sturmon summarizes: “One of the problems with torque rods is that they have a high failure rate around the smallest diameter. So I decided that if they’re going to fail at that point let’s not attach the polyurethane there and see what happens…and that was the beginning of the free rotation design. And, when we did that, all of a sudden these rods were lasting a lot longer. We were actually allowing urethane to show its best properties. We’ve proven over the last 20 plus years that rotation takes the stress out of the bushing and that’s what delivers the longer life product. “But that’s not the whole story; you can’t use the same urethane for everything. We started with one type of polyurethane and through the product development process found that one formula wasn’t sufficient. Now we are up to nine, with tests being done on a couple more. This means that on heavy trucks you could be using three or more different urethanes simultaneously on that same vehicle.” That's The ATRO Difference The entire product line has undergone rigorous study and testing using every element that we have here at our disposal. Advanced engineering, design and quality materials are used to meet or exceed the OEM specifications. The finished product handily outperforms rubber and competitive equivalents in: Ozone Resistance Chemical Resistance Abrasion Resistance Cut and Tear Resistance Load Bearing Rebound/Compression Durometer Range, etc. Bottom line, trucks and fleets are in service longer, withstand punishing terrains better and need far less maintenance when ATRO’s family of polyurethane parts is spread throughout the vehicle’s suspension and related components. The next time you're at the replacement parts crossroad, ask for genuine ATRO Polyurethane parts. To learn more about The ATRO Difference, click More Info or fill out the form to send an e-mail. |
