Inaugural Southern California Benefit Dinner February 24, 2012
Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum Pomona, CA Put on the B.R.A.K.E.S., a non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation, whose mission is to prevent injuries and save lives by training and educating teenage drivers and their parents about the importance of safe and responsible driving, will hold its inaugural Benefit Dinner for Southern California at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona.
Join Us For A Special Program & Special Guests The night will include a special program of cocktails, dinner, silent and live auctions and celebrity guests, including 4-time World Champion Drag Racer Shirley Muldowney, 2011 Top Fuel Champion Del Worsham and Nitro Funny Car driver Jack Beckman, among others . All proceeds from the dinner will benefit Doug Herbert’s Put on the B.R.A.K.E.S., which provides free hands on driver training to teens.
The B.R.A.K.E.S. Mission Started by NHRA Top Fuel Championship Driver Doug Herbert following the tragic death of his two sons in a terrible car accident in January of 2008, the B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation seeks to “Prevent injuries and save lives by training and educating teenage drivers, and their parents, about the importance of safe and responsible driving". With motor vehicle crashes the leading cause of death among teenage drivers: between 5,000 and 6,000 teenagers have died in vehicle crashes every year for the past decade; safe teen driving is a concern for everyone on the highway; not the least those in the trucking industry. No matter your vocation, the work of the B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation touches everyone: either directly by providing driver training to someone's children or indirectly by training a grandchild, niece, nephew, cousin or teenage neighbor; and that’s why supporting this program is so important.
